FormStream | Built to Industry Standards

XML Foundation for Reliable Integration and Data Sharing

FormStream™ uses Extendable Markup Language (XML) for the importing, storing, processing, and exporting of data.  The platform was designed to support XML data formats as a core part of the application, not some other native format translated into XML at the last minute.  XML was designed in as an easy way to share data between application modules and between applications.

FormStream is standardized on the Global Justice XML Data Model (GJXDM) format for transmission of form data, internal message communication, and data interfaces for integrations with external systems.  This allows integration data interfaces to have a single standard format instead of multiple proprietary XML formats.

FormStream can communicate with a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System, Record Management System (RMS) and a Mobile Client either directly or through a Message Switch.  This “plug and play” approach, facilitated in part by Web Services from the form in the mobile environment, allows for a common interface for data queries, table lookups, notifications, email messages, and transmission of RMS and MDC transaction records.  The communication payload for these transactions is contained in GJXDM compliant XML instance documents wrapped in protocol headers.

  • FormStream is built on a web-based, Java, J2EE compliant, n-tier architecture, Windows operating system.
  • FormStream data is all XML.
  • SpireLine implemented one of the Country’s first police department Justice XML (JXDDv3.0) field reporting solutions in Syracuse and Onondaga County, NY

Leveraging XML, Java and n-tier architecture, FormStream easily integrates both on the front end with a CAD and/or MDCs and on the back-end with a RMS allowing for seamless data movement throughout disparate systems.
